Reference: PR-08
Duration: 2 Day(s)

Description

DO-178C, Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification describes the requirements for certification of software used in airborne systems. Owing to its non-prescriptive nature, implementing DO-178C is a significant challenge for any organisation that does not have prior experience.

This course focuses on explaining the purpose of DO-178C and identifying how organisations can achieve its objectives at each of the Design Assurance Levels. Each of the required process documents are discussed in detail with practical guidance given on how to draft, review and implement them.

Using extensive industry experience, our consultants will explain how successful certification to DO-178C can be achieved.

Content

  • The history of DO-178C
  • The goals of DO-178C
  • Overview of the differences between DO-178B and DO-178C
  • The DO-178C processes
  • The DO-178C Design Assurance Levels (DAL)
  • The objectives to be achieved at each DAL
  • How to develop a DO-178C document set
  • How to implement DO-178C on a project
  • How DO-178C addresses object oriented software
  • How DO-178C addresses model based development
  • The impact of implementing DO-178C
